The component
A small roll with a big job.
The sleeve head — rondini, as the Italian workroom calls them — is a shaped, layered construction — front canvas, reinforcement and felt — sewn into the sleeve cap. Its job is disproportion itself: a few grams of material that decide whether the sleeve breaks and dimples at the crown, or falls from the shoulder in a single clean line
In-Tailoring sleeve heads are cut and rolled for consistent loft, so the support you set into the
first sleeve is the support you find in the fiftieth. The crown fills evenly, the cap smooths without bulk, andthe sleeve hangs the way the pattern intended.
Function
The clean fall of the sleeve.
Sewn into the armhole along the upper sleeve seam, the sleeve head lifts and rounds the cap from within. It erases the small collapse where sleeve meets shoulder — the flaw the eye can’t name, but alwaysnotices.

Specifications
The essentials.
A sleeve head is a matter of millimetres: loft, length and cut decide how the crown fills
The best sleeve head is the one you never think about again: ours are rolled for even loft end to
end, so the crown fills without a ripple — and stays filled.
