The component
The engine room of the trouser.
The waistband is where a trouser succeeds or fails.Inside the cloth band runs a built construction that keeps the waist flat, resists deformation andtension, and stays comfortable through the daily strain of sitting, bending and wear. Built by hand, it is one of the most time-consuming operations in trouser-making.
In-Tailoring waistbands arrive as a complete pre-formed component, constructed to the
standards Cobas supplies to industrial trouser production: stable, flat, and ready to be sewn into your
band. Hours of preparation, delivered by the metre.
Function
A clean waist, for years.
The waistband component runs inside the trouser band from closure to closure. It keeps the waist from rolling and collapsing, and — with the anti-slip option — secures thetrousers to the hips, holding the main belt in place: the quiet mechanics of a trouser that fits at six in the evening the way it did at eight in the morning.

Designed to resist deformation: an inner linen structure acts as stabilizer and thermalregulator, or a soft cotton core keeps its shape without adding bulk.

Premium
The luxurious band: stability without sacrificing comfort — with an anti-slip Grip option thatsecures the main belt to the hips.

Pleated
Adaptability and comfort: the pleats let the lower part of the waistband stretch slightly whensitting or moving, so it never squeezes waist or hips.
